334 Acres along the Saginaw River in Southwest Saginaw
The State of Michigan is implementing a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant this spring/summer at Saginaw River Headwaters Rec Area. The capital improvements include aggregate trail surfacing on the southern half of the trail system including around the landfill, the construction of an observation platform at the southern terminus of the Saginaw River trail, and additional benches along the trail system.

The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail is one of Saginaw Counties gems, stretching 11 miles from St. Charles to Saginaw. It incorporates a number of natural features including: seven bridges over various rivers and creeks, The Shiawassee State Game Area and many wetland areas. The Rail Trail also offers an equestrian trail, trail shelters, restroom facilities at the Van Wormer parking lot, viewing platforms and benches.

Veterans Park is a one and a half-mile parkway on the Saginaw River, located off M-13 and north of Zilwaukee. It features picnic areas, fishing and boat launch access.

William H. Haithco Recreation Area is a beautiful park with a 40 acre man-made lake. The park offers a lifeguard supervised beach (from 11:00 am-7:30 pm every day beginning the Friday before Memorial Day until Labor Day), sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, paddleboat rentals, rowboat rentals, canoe rentals, kayak rentals, playground, Ruth Averill Splash Pad, fishing access, grills, concession stand, and modern restrooms. Dogs are not permitted at Haithco.
