Local Planning & Zoning Assistance

Staff provides assistance to local governments on planning and zoning matters in several ways:
- Serving as a technical resource providing information and suggestions on various planning and zoning topics as they arise.
- Providing review and recommendations on proposed land use plans and zoning ordinances, or amendments to current plans and ordinances.
- Assisting communities in the preparation of land use plans and zoning ordinances on a contractual basis, as staff time and work loads permit.
Zoning of Property:
Saginaw County does not administer local zoning. Planning Department staff cannot provide information on the zoning of parcels or permit requirements. For this type of information contact the appropriate local unit of government.
