Trail Travelers
Join us for a relaxing walk on the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail. Every time you come, you can enter to win a prize pack that will be given away at the end of the summer. Participants travel at their own pace. You can walk the entire trail or just a portion.

Soggy Doggy
The William H. Haithco Recreation Area is open for you and your pup to have a splish-splashing good time. Usually the lake is off limits to pets but for this one evening bring them out and let them swim to their hearts, content! Please be sure to clean up after your pet.

Catch Me If You Can
This fun filled fishing festival has it all! Games, prizes, and fishing! The first 200 children registered receive a free gift and tbe entered to win a grand prize chartered fishing trip. 
Trophies, lunch and raffle prizes as well.

Music In The Park

Mud Day
Come to the park prepared to get dirty! This event if everything muddy and messy! If you like to play in the mud and get dirty then you need to be at this event. We’ll even help with the clean -up.

 Teddy Bear Picnic

Adaptive Sports
Join Michigan Sports Unlimited, St. Mary’s Field Neuroscience Institute and Saginaw County Parks and Recreation for this new and exciting program. Learn what it takes to be a wheelchair athlete! Play tennis, basketball and rugby with adaptive equipment designed for those with a disability.

Jammin’ Dulcimers

Lake Swim Mornings
Lake swim mornings are designed for the serious swimmer. On the designated days, participants are allowed to come to Haithco and swim the 1/4 mile across the 40 acre lake. All swimmers must be able to swim the distance without assistance. The beach is only open to distance swimmers at this time. All swimmers must wear a parks swim cap (available for $2. Saginaw County reserves the right to deny participation to anyone whom they believe is not capable of this endeavor.

Kayaking Classes
In this beginning kayaking class, you will learn the differences between kayak styles and canoes, and discover how stable and easily maneuverable kayaks can be. Class sizes are small and cozy with a maximum of eight people per class. Be sure to register early, as classes fill up fast. This is a wet class, so you should bring a change of clothing and a smile!
